ENFF 2026
The 18th edition of the Eastern Neighbours Film Festival (ENFF) takes place from 4 to 8 November 2026 in Filmhuis Den Haag. For five days, the festival presents the best of new cinema from Eastern Europe and the former Eastern Bloc, with many films screening in the Netherlands for the first time.
This year’s programme looks at what people carry with them and leave behind when borders shift. The Focus programme Roots follows families and communities across generations. Out of Focus: Serbia turns to a country where protests continue and state film funding has stopped, while filmmakers keep working. Women’s Lenses brings together films that see the world from female positions. Alongside these are the New Talents Competition for debut films, Between Film and Art for experimental cinema, a youth film, and a centenary tribute to the actor Pavle Vujisić in the Old Gold programme.
The films are accompanied by panels, talks, Q&As with filmmakers and wine tastings. Forty years after Chernobyl and thirty-five years after the collapse of the USSR, one of the talks asks what remains when a system falls apart. Before the festival, ENFF’s On Tour programme brings a selection of films to other Dutch cities.
